ARDLEA TAMMY SELLS €40,000
The 2006 National Limousin Champion, Arldea Tammy, owned by Mr. Dan Tynan, Mountrath, Co. Laois, sold for €40,000 at last Saturday’s on farm production sale. Tammy was crowned National Limousin Champion just a week earlier at the Ploughing Championships in Tullow and was one of 36 homebred females that was offered for sale at the annual Ardlea production sale.

ARDLEA TAMMY NATIONAL LIMOUSIN CHAMPION 2006
The thronged ringside burst into applause on Friday afternoon when the judge Ms. Teleri Thomas stepped forward and tapped Ardlea Tammy as her choice of 17th National Limousin Champion. The judge Ms. Teleri Thomas who described her choice of champion as ‘very feminine, in excellent condition, rearing a very good calf, a truly amazing female that I’d love to have in my own herd’. Her win at the National Limousin Show was the highlight of an illustrious show career including Senior Female of the Year 2005, Junior Female Champion at European Show in Paris 2005, Female Champion & Reserve Overall Limousin Champion at National Livestock Show in Tullamore 2005.

ARDLEA ANABEL LEADS LIMOUSIN AT NATIONAL LIVESTOCK SHOW IN TULLAMORE!
Anable earlier in the day as crowned National Junior Heifer Champion, followed by Female Champion & cumulating in Overall Limousin Champion. It was a milestone for the Ardlea herd going one step further than in 2005 when we won Reserve Overall Limousin Champion. It was made all the more remarkable that Anable was on only her second ever outing to a show. This homebred heifer born on 1 st April 2005 is out of one of the herd stock sires Lino and an imported dam Seguia.

ROSCREA PREMIER SALE MARCH ‘06:
The fifth highest price on the day of €6,000 went to the first prizewinner and Reserve junior Champion on the day went to Elite Vicar from Bernadette Tynan, Ballyroan, CO. Laois. A December 2004 born son of Malibu out the French dam Jalouse this very stylish young bull sold to the pedigree herd of Sam Coleman, Ballymena, Co. Antrim.

ELITE ALO FBD 1st PRIZEWINNER TULLY MARCH ‘06
Elite Alo was the first prizewinner in the FBD prize section. This January 2005 born had again much sought after genetics being a son of Ideal 23 and out of the French imported cow Lorraine, a Gamin daughter. He gained an amazing 2.27 kg/day over the period of the performance test. The purchaser of this bull was Donal Callery, farm manager for the Cookstown Pedigree Herd of Ms. Oonagh McLoughlin, Kells, Co. Meath.
